As most of the people here know (I guess so), Free Software world is no
more
lacking a social networking software. GNU Social[1] is one such developed
under GNU by FSF, using PHP5. Diaspora [2] is another such thing using
Ruby.
R ather than reinventing the wheel you can contribute to any of these Free
Software, IMHO
