thats just the driver - and he has that working

you need hardware / software switches to turn on the card if its turned
off by default.

From what I've seen on my IBM laptop which doesn't have hardware
switch.. loading the ndiswrapper module switches on the wireless and
unloading the module switches it off. This behaviour wasn't present
always.. i think it's post  ndiswrapper v0.4
