[Ilugc] Could not connect Oracle by Client

which was working in SunSolaris 5.8 with Oracle 8.0.5., should be discarded.
All work we did as if in the Main Server. Now we can connect the Oracle as
Oracle User. But other users and through ODBC we could not connect the Linux
Server. The error is :
ORA12154 TNS could not resolve service name.
We try to ping the server from client side and we could get reply.
Is there any issue between SunSolaris and Linux?
I am not an Oracle DB guy, but if I recall well that error (which is
supposed to be pretty common) generally points to:
o a local copy/cache of the tnsnames.ora file
o how you have configured your db names (and the aliases)
o the configuration of the listener
