Tried Ctl+v-returns v.
Tried Ctl+l-3 times in a row, clears screen on the 3rd or 4th attempt.
I was using the consonle mode, problem exists in the GUI as well, instead of
Ctl+Alt+F1, returns
Alt+F1/F2 etc; find I have to log out to get the console.
Set TERM=linux bash as you suggested, no change.
Tried vi; Ctl+R which is used to recycle between windows does not respond!
Maybe the Ctl key is defective; will try a new keyboard!
