Thanks for the reply, Mehul. I tried renaming ~/.gnome2 to something else,
but that doesn't seem to help. And I couldn't find anything unusual in the
logs either (but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough). Anyways I didn't know
what I was looking for.
And I can't risk playing with this machine because it has a lot of data, a
database engine and webserver running. That's why I'm trying to see if
someone has a readymade solution for this :|
