when u say, any software as FOSS, it means i can do anything with it.
Mozilla.org is just trying to protect its branding by not allowing any
arbitrary person to put in his own patches and distributing the same as
Mozilla.
Would you feel safe to try such a version that might contain phishing or
any piece of such software?
In first place can you download Debian sources, add in your own patches
and use your own logo instead of the swirl and redistribute as Debian?
Obviously not. That is what Mozilla.org is trying to do.
Mozilla.org does allow you to share and redistribute the sources, if
you're editing it, better not use their logo and copyright. IMO this is
a fair deal.
