Doesn't matter really, but make sure that you dont install the
BSDs boot loader on the MBR unless you are familiar with it.
Actually there are some more limitations,
1. Freebsd can only be installed on a primary partition
(
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+FreeBSD-2.html) so you should
have one to spare.
2. If XP is in a logical partition, then according to the
windows naming conventions the partition number would have
incremented and you might need to update the boot.ini file.
