Have this in your prompt or write a gdesklets applet that does the
above and stick it in your desktop.
Also try 'athcool'[1], but be warned that it might not work for
you. It works for me (Athlon XP 2600+ / VIA KM800A). I *used* to hear
an annoying noise from my on-board sound card when using this
software, but thats reduced a lot after I put a PCI SBLive 5.1 in.
