Hi All,
I have been trying to install Fedora Core 2 on my External Hard Disk Samsung
160 GB connected to my Laptop thru the USB Port.
Steps followed are as follows:
1. Connected the External HDD to my USB (This HDD already has some partition
of NTFS for 80GB).
2. Booted the Laptop using the Fedora Core 2 DVD.
3. Requested for Graphical Installation by press ENTER key at the boot
prompt
4. Selected all the options until the partition information was requested
5. Selected Manual with Disk Drud.
6. The External HDD connected thru the USB Port did not show up in the Disk
Drud Disk Information dialog
7. My existing of the Laptop with 40 GB only showed. This HDD contains Win
XP Professional Dual Boot with Fedora Core 2.
8. Out of 40 GB, 6 GB is allocated for Fedora Core 2.
9. If I boot into my Fedora Core 2 using the Grub option, then in the System
Information - Hard Disks I find the USB Drive detected as follows:
sad, sda1, sda2, sda3, and rest of the unallocated space of 80 GB.
Request to advice as how I would be able to make the Fedora Core 2 - Disk
Drud detect my External HDD while installing itself.
Purpose:
I want to remove the Fedora Core 2 Installation from Laptop and dedicate one
separate HDD for the Fedora Core 2. Started of doing this when was not able
to compile the Kernel due to insufficient space in my Laptop HDD.
