Hi Sanjay:
what are the different streams for Linux careers in
chennai and which are major companies with
opportunities?
There are many companies with openings at any given point in time.
Very few post job requirements in the mailing list, most of them use
consultancies or job portals.
1)System admin
2)Developer
SysAdmin - many companies will be happy if you are certified, RHCE,
etc, might help
Developer - There are many subdivisions here, some that I can think of now are:
1. Web developer - LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
2. Application Development (C/C++,Python, GTK+,Qt,MySQL, PostgreSQL)
3. Network/IPC Programming (BSD Sockets programming, System V IPC)
4. Embedded Systems (Settop Boxes, IP Phones, Device Drivers, Kernel
customization, PDAs, Smartphones)
If you want to be a developer, then you need to choose..
