Are you talking only about MIT? If yes, I think there are
no
problems. When I used to give classes there were more than two
rooms
with even a nice projector! :) I guess praveen and tom used
their
influence... ;)
Not about MIT. It is about ILUGC to organise coure to students in
general and not confined to a single college.

Ok, there's this O'Reilly book which you might find interesting. It
discusses the history and pholosophy of the free software/open source
movements, and is by many authors with different view points. Naturally
it should be less biased towards one camp:

Other resources are the usual suspects:

Personally, I don't know any of the active members of ILUG Chennai.
Currently I live in Bangalore, and I'm from Kerala. But I find the
ilugc mailing list very active and interesting, that's why I'm
subscribed here. Naturally I can't direct you to any of the ilugc
members.
I'm not an active contributor to any free software project, real life
hardships stands in between. But I can claim to have made my own modest
contributions to the community, code and otherwise. I just don't shout
it from rooftops. This, since you're questioning my credentials ;-)
