Why is it that almost all talks related to Open Source / Free
Software
evangelism, "spreading the word", "helping others" ends up in
asking
for volunteers (and CD writers) :)
The darn above thing was discussed for Demo@Schools a year back. :)
From my observation, trying to make anything BIG or get a lot
of
people involved is difficult. If someone needs a debian CD and
someone
can write it for them, that would work just fine than having
a
dedicated CD writer for the group.
Generally we need a small group of volunteers mainly during events
like LDD, college seminars etc., for taking of CD distribution.
During LDD about 1200 people attended, atleast 250-300 were asking
for the CDs. This situtation cannot be managed by
someone-writes-for-someone.
Second is the newcomers. Nowadays we see atleast 10-15 new comers in
many meet. I don't think we all become friends at first sight and
start writing CDs for them. But if we have a small set of identified
persons it will be nice for the newcomers to contact them.
