You know, this is a forum for free software -- so we can at least

You seem to be implying that projity is not free software?
I stand corrected. I made assumptions based on imperfect
memory
and the rather unfortunate wording of the original email;
A new open source alternative to Microsoft Project called Projity
is now available. Its written in Java, and uses the controversial
CPAL license.
CPAL is not, as far as I can tell on doing some research, at
all controversial; it has been approved by the OSI, and seems to be
DFSG free.
