I've FC3 and Modem is Starcom UT300R2,BSNL Broadband.
I tried installing the rp-pppoe in FC3. I didn't realise that it was already
available. To test if rp-pppoe was available or not I tried running 'adsl
setup' command and the result was "command not found", so I assumed that
rp-pppoe needs to be installed -One has to log in as "su -" to run 'adsl
setup'...I learned about it hard way and late :-(
Anyway I followed the instruction given in
http://www.chennailug.org/wiki/BSNL_Broadband to install rp-pppoe. I believe
now this has created a mess.
I got an error while trying to install rp-ppoe (Error message: Following
files have been found.....Conflict in files - It's a big error message
listing the files that have been found).
I later learned about logging in as "su -", now the 'adsl setup' worked and
I gave all parameters. However 'adsl start' timesout trying to connect. I
checked 'adsl status' which give following message: "can't read PID file /*
var**/**run*/pppoe.conf-adsl.*pid*.pppo"
Also 'pppo' fails during booting the system.
I don't know where to go from here? :-)...thinking of clean installing FC3
again.
