Hmm, I believe that you can almost always use glibc-2.3.x
from FC3 without much fear of dangling references or unmet
dependencies, but YMMV. Most of the other libs have compat-*
packages in FC that can be installed or rebuilt to meet
dependencies. Check all the Fedora distros for the compat-*
packages.
Anyways, I have RH9, but it's in Madras and I'm in B'lore
now - so it's difficult to get hold of until the end of the month.
