Have checked the hardware , it seems to be fine
Even with "old" IDE drivers (as others have suggested) you should see
better performance than what you are getting. I have experienced this
a few times; the hdd were RIP'd in a few days/weeks. The problem could
be with the IDE channel or your hdd.
Check out your hardware and replace the failing device.
