The modem comes with a installation CD. User Manual in pdf format has a
section for Linux. I tried it in SuSe Linux 10.2
1. Insert the Modem in USB port (USB drive is loaded and modem is
recognized)
2. run wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf to create the configuration script.
3. Edit the script to :
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
Baud = 460800
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
Init3 = AT+CRM=1
ISDN = 0
Modem Type = Analog Modem

Password = internet
stupid mode =1
4. run wvdial
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ

--> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0

--> Sending: AT+CRM=1

5. Then nothing happens. The connection does not show up in /sbin/ifconfig
output and can not browse the net.
6. I tried using Network Manager in Yast. The settings are same as above.
When activated from KNetworkManager, the connection is shown in
/sbin/ifconfig but sill no luck communicating to internet.
7. Normally I connect to the net through BSNL broadband connected to our LAN
with Default Gateway set to 192.168.1.1. I tried disabling Default Gateway
setup to get PPP connection working without success.
Any help, please?
