from likely. and secondly, 'testing' is far from being 'a year
old'. 'testing' is bleeding edge.
so how about the possibility that i could have done a net-install of a
'testing' version a year back (when i had a true broadband) and never
had the resources again to update.
If you dont know what you are doing,
you should be running 'sarge' and not 'testing'. 'testing' can
seriously break things if you dont know how to put packages on hold,
i have read this disclaimer. i know that apt-get is mature enough to
handle such situations. so please.. please.. stop treating me like a
baby.
etc.,. (in other words, its worth learning about apt instead of
cribbing :) ).
i donno what lead you to that conclusion. apt-get is one of the best
things i have come across in the softrware world. did you notice the
subject ? it is not 'apt-get error' or 'apt-get bug'. i am just trying
to find if this is abnormal and if it is, what could have caused it.
What hserus mentioned is a plain fact - debian 'stable' IS ancient :)
and bleeding-edge-freaks should stay far away from 'stable'.
ok guys... i see what is happenning here. i have this acute inability
of representing fun (as i thought of) in a funny manner or is it ...
