observing how things were quick in debian (even mozilla loaded in a
flash) than in redhat, i thought i would try firefox. so i gave
apt-get install mozilla-firefox
to my surprise, it listed pages and pages of software to install and
estimated around 80MB would be used. now something was wrong here. but
this is not windows. so i calmed my instincts and proceeded to pulling
out my hair one by one trying to get the 2.6kernel to work.
And sometime later when i rebooted, the gnome was wearing a refreshing
look. ofcourse there was mozilla 1.6 (from prev 1.5) and firefox ...
but my gnome was now 2.6 (had been 2.4 earlier).
anybody got an idea of how this could have happened.
