Why cant this be a FOSS project? Every year, there are lot of ME students,
who mostly do projects on Image Processing (fancy topic or fascinating topic
:) ) .. these resources can be leveraged efficiently..
But, the problem is who is going to lead..
i feel, this is not a core problem.. rather, the requirement is not
conveyed to the corresponding project seeking students..
In this case, since kenneth directly faced this problem, he can better
describe the requirement, and can pinpoint, which part of the process we
need to do project on.. (in this case, the color separation, which the ME
students can definitely do over 6 months period).
And since this solves a real time business problem, it can be better
marketed at his college.. or rather, that student can do it for any
specific printers in business now..
