I do understand that things have gone a little far. Renaming the
conference may be very difficult at this stage. We can consider it as an
option for next year, or conduct another conference or something similar.
Why wait till next year ? You can create a sub/mini conference this
year under fossconf. You need to do the following
0) Gather momentum for the idea.
1) Identify the agenda for the sub-conf
2) Identify the infrastructure required and approach the organizers
for arranging the infrastructure.
3) Identify the speakers and decide whether you want it to be a invite
only speakers or any one can become a speaker.
4) Create a procedure for verifying the credentials for the chosen speakers
You have 2 months to market the subconf if you act now. So, lets not
wait a whole year...
