No.   It gives an overview of network traffic on the LAN.  I did not
mean to imply that is a replacement for nethogs


Also, tcpdump is handy for quick snapshot of traffic on the wire.


Tcpdump only shows the traffic however it does not associate a program to
it correct ?

iftop is a nice complement as well.
