Yes. Mine was bundled with MS-Windows XP as well. I was able to
replace MS-Windows XP with MS-DOS 6.22 before purchase and paid Rs.
500/- for the MS-DOS program (ok, operating system).
And any views on the particular model of the laptop... linux
compatibility, performance etc?

And by the way, my laptop is good. I was able to install linux 2.4.27,
2.6.4, 2.6.7, 2.6.10, 2.6.11 and get to use the hardware present in
it. I have not tested the ieee1394 port yet because I do not have a
device yet.
