this is something that has been haunting for a while..
few preliminary questions,
1) debian installer for debian & debian installer for ubuntu. how different
are they?
now initially in the GUI installer that we use to install ubuntu once the live
cd gets booted, the first choice is the language of installation and its
clear.
2) then comes the keyboard layout, where while most of kutti, tiny languages
of world has seperate representation, major indian languages and their
keyboard layout are messed up under "India". here non-nationalistic
linguistic representation is needed.. need feedback here..
3) am using kde & it states clearly,
Unfortunately, if in a country, different users use different settings
depending of the language, this cannot be correctly reflected in KDE.
&
The directories in kdebase/l10n are for countries, not for languages, so the
codes have a different meaning (even if for example the French language and
the country France share a same code: fr).
again in kde-settings, keyboard layout, India comes and languages are messed
up in it.
Now how abt suggestions to have linguistic needs seperated from national
needs.
nation need not be messed up with language and can be confined to represent
time zone.
language can be sepearted out independently.
