Dear Friends,
I try to install ubuntu 6.06 lts on the following motherboard category
845 Chipset
Intel original 101 GGc
with Memory of 256 MB
The installation failed in the middle, after asking the language selection
screen, nothing seems to
really progressing while the CD drive seems to be in constant access.
Any one witness similiar experience.
I have faced such issues during installation in Jaya Engineering
college, but later found it to be a media error issue. Some CDs, even
shipped ones, have some error in the media which causes these kind of
problems during installation. For a lucky few, it indeed gets installed
but not guaranteed. Better try with another CD, which is not a copy of
the CD you are using.
Ubuntu 5.10 is a cake walk installation, but 6.06 seems to be missing
'6' in
the omen 666, atleast for me.
Ahh, just because of a media issue tagging something as Omen is not
acceptable. I have installed Dapper Drake in around 40 computers now,
including a couple of laptops. I have never faced a situation where I
wasn't able to install (there were initial problems due to CDs which
were copied from shipped CDS, but not done properly).
/me dreams of thyagu using edgy beta and trying to run updates
everyday... o_O /me wakes up from the nightmare ;)
