Annabelle, when u have your cursor on 1 of those quotes, & u hit the current character key 3 times, it'll give u the ascii equivalent of those characters. If u look at yor word dictionary, you'll notice that \8820 which is the ascii character for an open quote is pronounced " i.e., ascii value 34. If u wish, u could easily change that to open quote, & the same applies to closed quote, which has an entry of \8821.
