Hi Jim, I couldn't find a config.ini, but the culprit was the app name.jcf.
I just removed it, but at the bottom, there's a section on the last modified
scripts...and it was listed there. I was unable to figure out how to change
things in here, hence why I removed the file. Anyway, I'm cooking on gas

Yes, the jsb file exists, and the correct jss is opened if I open the script
manager from within the program, but Jaws reports default.jss. It's almost
like Jaws is intercepting this script and not allowing me to use it.

These scripts exist in all your jaws versions, but none of them can see it.
I doubt that you were in Manage Application Settings for each of those jaws
versions, which makes me think it has nothing to do with that.
The JSB file actually exists, does it?
No doubt, you know this, but it's worth mentioning that it is the .JSB that
is executed, not the jss.

Thanks Jim, I don't have any back ups within my ENU, but plenty on the HD,
could that affect things?. Well, I've had enough now. Opening the program
in any version of Jaws just opens a default.jss, even though the scripts are
present and on opening the script manager. Only thing to try, apart from
uninstalling all these Jaws versions, is to try renaming files, but that can
wait until tomorrow now. Thanks Steve.

where I run into this is i a case like this.
I have a file called myScript.jss. And, I make a copy of that file, since
I'm about ot make changes, and hope to easly back out of them.
So, now, I have
myScript.jss
and I also have
MyScript - copy.jss
Jaws seems to get confused by the presence of myScript - copy.jss.

I'm not quite with you Jim when you say Jaws has problems with back up
copies.
This is so weird. I've run a repair on Jaws 2018 with no luck...and even
Jaws 17 and 18 do not show my jss. So, at the moment I'm stuck with a jss
that won't run!...only a default!

Steve,
You should just be abel to enable those scripts again, in the same list, and
have then turned back on.
If that doesn't work, look at that Manage Application settings again, and
see if the desired items really are checked.
It seems like that jaws feature has problems if there are any backup copies
of scripts files, such as "myScript - copy.jss" , which seems to cause
trouble with "myScript.jss" being used.
So, watch out for backup copies starting with the same letters.

to see if the issue Iâ?Tm hunting down was in the scripts or coming from the
program.
anyway, now default scripts are always being used and the original script is
no longer being shown, even though previous script files are still in my
ENU. Does anyone know where or what to do to override this default script,
so I can go back to the original scripts? Using Jaws 2018. THX Steve.
