Thanks Jonathan, but I so far haven't been able to find any ini file that
contains anything relevant. I'll take another crack and see what happens,
but I feel I will need to uninstall and reinstall Jaws. THX Steve.

Take a look at the ini file for the application in question if it exists.
There might be a line near the bottom for disabling application
customizations or some close equivalent. I remember trying to track down
some brokenness 3 years ago with this. Something about Application names
that had spaces causing confusion.
You can always try seeing what files or directories changed most recently.
