This is a pretty cool suggestion!--would have never thought of this.On the other hand, I don't want to completely disable the jaws sound, I just need to be able to turn it up or down on the fly.

hi Matthew,i'm not a scripter and no idea to how to slow down the volume of jaws with scripting. but i have one suggestion and i myself wasusing it.go to default keymap file and look for "mute synthesizer", set a keystroke for it and activate that keystroke when need to listen to music/dvds. this keystroke is toggle, so you can press the second time to unmute it. i set mine to JawsKey+BackSpace.hope this can help you a little. I'mwondering if there is a way of somehow being able to turn down the jaws voice without turning down the Windows system volume? That is, when listening to any kind of audio, when one wants to raise the audio as in music or a DVD, one must also deal with the jaws volume shredding one'seardrums because the eloquence voice is so damn loud! Is there a programmingfix or possibly even a scripting fix?
