It was a good day! I didn’t get to start birding until a little after 5pm when
I headed over to Clapp. I headed for Shrub Henge and Lena was already there.
She got me on 3 Indigo Buntings (two males and a female) and then I found male
and female Lazuli Buntings. The were all foraging on the ground on the east
side of Shrub Henge with the Chipping Sparrows and White-winged Doves. There
were also a few Clay-colored Sparrows and I spotted a Wilson’s Warbler foraging
near the top of a tree. I’m fairly certain that I heard another one nearby, but
I wasn’t able to find it. Then it was off to McAlister to find the Whimbrels
that Jordan found, but I will put that in a separate email.
