The east entrance has been closed for about 6 months. I’ve been walking to the
playa area (as recently as 3/26/20) and it’s been bone dry on every visit.

The Western grebe was still at Lake 2 and had good views!

Did some birding to our west. Reese Playa is completely dry and the road to

Bison Road Playa in Levelland had some good birds including 48 long billed
curlews, 11 burrowing owls, a snowy plover, and a handful of lark sparrows.
I just saw a report from 2pm today about a western grebe at Lake 2/Llano
Estacado lake (in between buddy holly lake and erakine street marsh). I’m
going to follow up on it right now.
