Hello Fellow Birders,
Some things to share:
1. 1/23/19 While driving through the NW section of Lynn County, this very
proud Rufous-morph Ferruginous Hawk was resting on a pole. I had huge help on
the ID from Jen Miller and Greg Lasley, so thank you both for that!
2. 1/23/19 A flock of 23 Horned Larks in the SW part of Lubbock County
3. 1/26/19 My son and I were walking on the trails on the extreme north end
of Mackenzie Park (near the Purina Mills factory) and we found a Great Horned
Owl and a Spotted Towhee. We also saw a bashful Red Fox, and my son somehow
managed to find Striped Bark Scorpion (alive) under a disposed-of couch
cushion. As for the fox, I've seen it quite a few times these past few months
and have failed on every single occasion to get a photo. Sigh.
Lena
