As you may be aware, the Indo-German Development Cooperation Project on
“Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation in India’ commissioned by the German
Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is being
implemented (Nov 2017- June 2023) by *Deutsche Gesellschaft für
Internationale Zusammenarbeit* (GIZ), and the Ministry of Environment,
Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, together with
State Forest Departments of Karnataka, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The project is working closely for reducing the human-wildlife
conflict-related negative impacts on the local communities. Therefore,
meetings, consultations, workshops and trainings with the selected
Panchayats in project pilot sites, surveys and documentation on
agricultural and social practices, process documentation and knowledge
management are the highest priority for our project right now. To work in
this direction, *we are in the process of engaging Interns*.
We plan to engage *two interns (1 for Madikeri Field Office and 1 for
Jalpaiguri Field Office)*. The ideal profile for the Interns will be -
recent graduates/post graduates in the field of environment/social
sciences/management/any other relevant field, fluent in Kannada language
for Madikeri position and Bengali language in Jalpaiguri position, basic
knowledge of human-wildlife conflict issues in the area, and an attitude of
hard work and discipline.
I have *attached a copy of the Terms of Reference* of the Internship
positions. I would request you to kindly share this with your outgoing
batch of students/alumni who have passed out recently (not more than 6
months old).
1. *Deadline for receiving applications: January 15, 2022*
2. Expected date of a *test and interview* (online/ face-to-face): *January
17, 2022*
3. Expected *start date of the internship: January 25, 2022*
