Why in the world didn't we adopt a single worldwide standard when we had the 
chance?

720p @ 72 (3x24)

Everybody gets high motion, everybody gets some flicker from local lighting, 
and films could be shown in their intended speed with a "3:3" pull-down.

At the very least, I wish we in the United States would have gotten rid of 
that nasty 29.97 fps frame rate, and finally see the death to drop frame 
SMPTE time code!  29.97 and 59.94 should have never been adopted!
