Maybe there is a compromise position. Separating content from carriage seems exactly right in this instance. It is in Comcast's self-interest to prevent any NBC content from being made available FOTA. At the same time, the public spectrum is owned by us, the people, and only entrusted to NBC now, to use as prescribed by law.

Sorry Bert, but we allowed these corporations to establish a market in the TV spectrum. The public no longer owns it, at least until the industry collapses and it is no longer possible to sell a TV station.

Then again, the politicians have sold most of the rest of the spectrum to the highest bidders - we now pay for the use of virtually ALL of the public spectrum resources.
