I'm in Atlantic Beach Florida, suburb of Jacksonville. But as I mentioned in another post the channels may not really be encrypted but instead moved to a new frequency (supposedly channels 63-66) that is for me filtered due to my limited basic subscription. Basically I only want broadband but the teaser rate for limited basic made it worth it just for the network channels for the first (supposedly) 6 months. I first thought the channels were encrypted because after my attempt at finding them on the PC I tried my Vizio TV which announced they were encrypted. However that was likely the result of the Comcast channel rejiggering and I had not yet done a full channel re-scan. After the Vizio channel scan the HD channels are still not there but at least do not say encrypted. I believe Comcast changed the channel lineup around the 15'th but I haven't had any time to watch TV and was relying on my computer to record everything. It seems most recordings failed since the 15th. I meant to call Comcast today and find out what's going on but got busy and never got around to it. Maybe they can swap my filters or something. - Tom colejd@xxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > Tom, > > > > What market are you in, and what two stations? > > > > It is possible, as Craig writes, that retrans consent allows, but very > unlikely, unless these two stations are out of DMA. > > > > Most O&O's would never allow the native feed to be encrypted, and most > affiliates wouldn't want to give up that right, if the network even gave them > the option too. > > > > I would enquire with the stations if they know this is happening. > > > > > > Â > > The other thing that could have happened is that the cable company move the > content to a different QAM.
