This sentence was inspired by your NAB Beyond the Headlines report - probably the best overall review of what happened at NAB I have read.

Hey Craig,
Missed you at NAB this year. The above statement is dead on. Those stations not supported by Harris or Rhode & Schwartz are staying clear of this until they see more clarity in what the consumer will want. One guy told me many in his market think they already have Mobile TV on their phones. The "killer App" being discussed for Mobile DTv is on-demand downloads of content, not live local news.

I still think broadcaster can survive if they move to a business model based on pushing files to "local cache" for consumption on demand. The consumer just "subscribes" to the programs they want and they are downloaded when broadcast, then viewed when you have time.

I've always wondered why the radio manufacturers have not built in personal audio recorders in their products. Want to listen to a talk show that is broadcast while you are working? Just record it and listen on the drive home...

Paraphrasing "the most interesting man in the world..."

I don't always watch the news, but when I do, I prefer to get my news from an Internet portal.

P.S. - How's the beer business? I was talking with Chris Allain and he said you were doing good with it. I'd love to sample some. Can you send me a case (I'll pay whatever it costs).

The beer business is booming! We just opened a tasting room and the place is jumping when we are open: Wednesday-Friday from 4-8pm.

We sold just over 700 barrels of beer last year (a barrel is 31 gallons). We are on track to produce between 2100 and 2400 barrels this year. We are already operating the existing brewery at or near capacity and are evaluating expansion plans.

Currently nearly all of our product is sold in bars and restaurants on draft. We did bottle a Saison recently and will sell about 1000 bottles when the labels arrive. I'll let you know when they become available. Real packaging for retail will probably have to wait until we can install a larger brew system.

Hope to see you sometime soon!

Regards
Craig
