Unbelievable. Of course "additive," Craig, in the sense that old timers are
still watching linear streams.

This is what the article said:

But contrary to what marketers may think, the use of multiple devices is not
drawing consumers away from traditional TV. Consumers are not replacing
traditional TV viewing with streaming video, they’re just adding to it.

Add to this the fact that more than half of all MVPD subscribers ALSO subscribe
to Netflix. People are using both.

So, explain how you said, up front there, "it says nothing of the sort"? TV
programs are watched by fewer and fewer people by appointment, Craig, except
for old folk. That's what it says.

No, it says that most OTT viewing is additive to traditional TV viewing.
Essentially people are watching more total hours when we add together
traditional TV, OTT services and watching TV on mobile devices. Some age groups
are more or less inclined to watch traditional TV, and yes, the broadcast
networks in particular have seen major declines in their live audiences.

As I said, this is to be expected. When you have the option to watch the live
stream, time shift it with a DVR, or access it on demand, you can expect a
shift to on demand for pre-produced episodic TV shows.

Craig
