fellow kai lords,
it is with great pleasure that i am able to announce having finally after all
these years reached the pinnacle of kai perfection, that of the rank of kai
supreme master. this is due to your labours in republishing the books as well
as the gentlemanly conduct of mr. dever both for writing these works and also
allowing them graciously to be republished here.
its been a long road since my (now gone on to the plane of light) younger
brother first showed me his copy of 'the jungle of horrors' when i was in high
school. i was hooked immediately. when i started fftd, his advice was to
choose healing as a discipline and to always search for items whenever the
opportunity arose in the text.
when i was a young person reading the books for the first time, i had the
impression that the series ended at book 12. (i knew nothing of the lone wolf
fan club--or how cool it was--beyond the dedication of book 7.) later when i
chanced upon some of the grandmaster series in a bookshop, i was disheartened
to discover that they were abridged editions (i'm an american). i wrote red
fox books to try to special order the originals. they cashed my money order
and responded that everything was out of stock. later they sent me a refund
cheque (payable in pounds sterling lol). i therefore was forced to content
myself with the abridged editions. even so, i was never able to acquire a copy
of book 14; so this is the first time that i have passed straight through to
book 20. thank you deeply to all involved with this project.
of course, as they say, every rose has its thorn, and while reading i did,
believe it or not, run across a few mistakes in the text. i shall therefore
devote the remainder of this missive to listing some possible mistakes i ran
across.
