There are some numbers, like smells, that conjure up fond memories. Any
time I see a 43 ANYWHERE, I see in my mind Troy picking the ball off the
surface with his fingertips or running a pick back through heavy
traffic. Similarly, any time I see a 58 ANYWHERE, I see Cliff Harris on
the ground.

They weren't going to give #32 to anyone ever again anyway, so
I say he deserves it. Same for Bradshaw, but I think he needs
to endear himself to the team a bit more before that'll happen.

For years Stautner was the only retired number and I
thought it would always be that way. Too many HOFers to
retire their numbers. Joe Greene made some sense as the
start of a new era in franchise history.
I guess they will argue that the Immaculate reception was
a turning point in team history, but what next? Ben,
Troy... another player from the next era? Why not Swann,
Stalworth, James or Santonio for crucial plays in team
history. I know it is the 50^th anniversary of the
Immaculate Reception , but I don't like the idea of
retiring the numbers. Just my opinion.
