Hi all

The thing is as well that NCBI dont supply Mac's so they dont give training in
the Voice Over as with Supernova and Jaws, but at least there is the VICS
forum, thanks for you help again!

Hi folks,

I'd agree that some structured training on the Mac and IOS4 devices would
be very helpful.

I'm using a Mac  Mini running Snow leopard, andd Windows XP under Bootcamp.
Of course, old habits die hard, and so i find myself resorting most
frequently to Windows - shame on me!

I really need to get   to know my Mac better.

It's a wonder that none of the VECs are running basic Mac courses.

Regards,

Eamonn

Hi Maria,

Along with Donals advice, you can also use the keyboard help of "Control,
Option+ Letter K" to invoke keyboard help. When you start keyboard help
using the keys I described, just press any combination of keys and voice
over will tell you what a particular combination of keys does. When
finished
using keyboard help, press the "Escape key" to exit out of it. If you don't
exit out of keyboard help then you will not be able to perform any useful
function on the operating system.

Paul.

Hi Marie,

What voiceover commands are you having difficulty with?  The most useful
command is to hold down the voiceover keys and press h twice.  Every single
commmand is contained in a menu structure.

Feel free to post questions here though, plenty of us use macs and are only
too delighted to respond and show these boring windows users what a real
computer and screenreader can do! :-)

Cheers

non-disclosure agreement so I can't actually discuss the finer points.   It
is nice though.  There are still bugs to be ironed out but on the whole,
leaves windows for dead.  But then, most things do.
