Hi TonyI thought it might help you if I tell you which things in the layout dialogue box I have checked and unchecked as outlook express is working well with jaws, it is down to choice though:
Contacts-unchecked (optional) Folder bar-checked Folder list-checked Outlook bar-unchecked Status bar-checked Toolbar-checked Views bar-unchecked Show preview pane-uncheckednote that when preview pane is unchecked, you need to press the escape key to exit from an e-mail.
When you have gone through the dialogue box, press apply to save the changes.
Hope this might help Joan Ann.----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Sweeney" <tonysweeney@xxxxx>

Hi Flor,I have checked the preview pane as directed by you and whilst it has improved things a bit I still have the problem of when shift/tabbing out of a message I am landed on a link or links of the email I'm in!I see the options in the layout menu but don't know which one to check or uncheck if that's what else I need to do.Thanks Tony----- Original Message ----- From: "Flor Lynch" <florlync@xxxxxx>To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 5:13 PM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Exiting Body of EmailTony, you may have the Preview Pane unchecked. Thus you need to press enter on a message to read it, not the tab key. Also, the tab key brings you to links(if they are present) in an email - the email address, etc., being email links. If you want to toggle the state of the preview Pane, from themessage list - press the escape key to leave the message when this is read -hit alt-v for View, l for layout, and then p (which will either check oruncheck the preview pane). The preview Pane checked means that you can tabfrom the list into the message without opening the message.----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Sweeney" <tonysweeney@xxxxx>To: <vicsireland@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 14, 2009 4:42 PM Subject: [vicsireland] Re: Exiting Body of Email Hi Tim, Just tried the same now on your message but still the same problem! When in the body of your message response to me I did shift and tab to tryto bring me back to the messages list but shift and tab just brings me up the page till eventually it lands me in the inbox! I can resolve the problem a bit by bringing the message to the top of the page and then shift and tab. I am using a laptop and even plugged an external keyboared and still the same!I know you should be able to shift tab from the body of an incoming message and it should instantly land you on the message thus "Tim Culhane" and thesubject! I feel that it may need an adjustment to my settings but of course don't know how to go about that!It is not a major problem for me in the mighty scale of things but boy is itnot annoying!! If you want to move back to the inbox I'd try alt + tab as this willswitch you to the previously highlighted window, which was most likely theinbox. Eventually it will bring me to 'inbox which is not what I want then! I tried as a test connecting an external keyboard just to test, but still the same! My alt and tab keys are fine! Any assist with this? It's just that it is driving me scatty, that's all!!
