Jane,
I think that the advent of speech technology has put paid to Braille. It's
only people of a certain age who would use it these days, speaking for
myself, it's still my favourite option.

hi nicky,
i brought this subject up when i visited sight village in birmingham and
this year in cork, regarding in particular the braille equipment. i
thought
i would have gotten a better response from people who use braille machines
but maybe i am in a minority.
