Hello, For anyone interested, there is a review of the KSonar mobility aid on www.lalrecordings.com The KSonar was demonstrated by DDAware at the Vics open day a few weeks ago. It is a mobility aid similar to the Mini-Guide and the Bat / Ultra cain with the exception that it does not provide information via tactile feedback, it uses audio output. This provides the advantage of actually being able to recognise elements of the environment you are in via their audible textures. The device can be used stand alone in certain situations or with a Dog or Cain. Obviously, if your using a dog, you may wish to consult your GDMI if you have any concerns before hand. This review is short and demonstrates a number of the audible textures one would ordinarily find via tactile exploration. Sorry for the cross posting.
