hi everyone. i find gmail has a great span filter. i haven't received one
piece of spam in my inbox since i started to use it. I am not sure how it
would work with outlook express though, as i never tried it. I think eircom
offer some anti-spam services but they cost extra. Also, the google toolbar
has a pop-up blocker in it. it is very effective. The address is
http://toolbar.google.com i think.

Hi Maureen,

Don't you use Add-aware or spybot?. We talked about this before at some
point. It is something that people seem to ignore till its too late
unfortunately. If you are having problems with spam mails in say outlook
express then perhaps crating rules based on the second part of the
offending
email would eventually have some effect on this problem. For example if
you
were to create rules based on the domain name of an email address like
"spam.com or domain.com" note these are only examples and not
real fixtures
but when you examine an email address which you consider spam mail you
will
see what I mean.
There is no quick fix for this problem.

Paul.
