Have you tried accessing the properties from another place and creating the
keyboard shortcut there instead? have you tried using a different key
combination as your shortcut key? (I've found that that can work, though I
really can't tell you why.)

Hi folks!
For some reason I can no longer assign a key combination to a short cut
in the properties.
The key combination I press appears, but on pressing OK or Apply, the
entry goes back to None.
Strangely, when I delete a key combination and press Apply, it remains
deleted, so I'm authorised to make changes, but when trying to reenter
the combination previously assigned, no joy, it remains on None.
To quote Bob Geldoff: Tell me why!
