Hi paul,

I mentioned Quicktime Alternative which, as far as I know, is free. Google
it. My present computer came already equipped with Quicktime, so I just
needed to download the program or something, which i did. (I have iTunes 8,
now, as well. Also, you might get something on the following:

http://www.free-codecs.com/Audio_Codecs.htm

-- You would be looking for a Quicktime CODEC, if it exists. Now, I hadn't
come across m4B until you mentioned it. So there's no guarantee you will be
able to find something free for that.

Subject: [vicsireland] quicktime 7 and m4b

Blankhi folks
i installed a program called sound taxi, thanks Albert, to play m4b files,
but i get an error when i go to convert the book file concerned saying
i need to install QuickTime 7. i have been searching the net in vain looking
for a free version of this program but no luck. most sites start off with a
free announcement and end up at step 3 with something like ' yours for only
$99 per hour'.
anybody got any ideas? or is there another program i could use that won't
need QuickTime?
regards and thanks
Paul H
