However, as you probably know, Paul, you need to set up an account in iTunes 
in order to use it.  (you won't have to spend anything until you make a 
purchase.)  Lots of stuff - podcasts, tv shows, lectures, perhaps even some 
audio books, too  - is available for free there.

got that quicktime issue sorted.
the reason i wasn't getting the quicktime link on its own was cos it comes
as part of the i tunes download .
anyhow my m4b files are now playing giving me a great expansion on my audio
book downloads.
