OK, here's my first "which unit to take" question:
I'm looking at the attack, decay and release values for the filter envelope.
These values are centered at 64, which means no change to the filter freq. At
min and max settings they change the filter cutoff freq by 6 octaves down/up.
0% to 100% doesn't make much sense.
-100% to 100% makes sense, but doesn't give much information.
Here are some ideas I have and the ranges I'd expect:
"% of freq": Range would be 1.6% to 5997%
"cents": Range would be -7200 cts to +7087 cts
"semitone": Range would be -72.0 to +70.9 semitones
"octaves": Range would be -6.00 to +5.91 octaves
The strange values for maximum is again a result from the fact that 127 is the
maximum value.
We could of course also display two values (such as a -100% to 100% and in a
second line below in octaves or whatever we chose).
