I have an older version of jack so had to use Jeremy's patch, after
that everything seemed fine, compiling on both my 32 bit machine and
the 64 bit one. Had a good run through the patches, and had a bit of a
play with 'unison' - interesting effect that.

'Interesting' is about right - I'm still undecided just how interesting
it might prove to be.

As mentioned elsewhere I stuffed up the JACK_SESSION #ifdefs with the last
few changes to get jack session working. Not hard to fix, just needs more
#ifdefs!
One slight oddity. after about an hour's messing about the MIDI
connection broke (ALSA), in qjackctl it showed as still being there but
it weren't doin' nuttin'. Breaking it and re-connecting it cured the
problem and so far it hasn't recurred.

That's a worry. With this lot I've tried ever so hard to _not_ go changing
code willy nilly, and just stick to no than necessary to get the new
features functional. Jack session support changes the jack connection setup
stuff, but beyond that I haven't changed anything midi related. That doesn't
mean there isn't a bug though. For now I figure this one gets classified as
one of those "Put the lime in the coconut, ... drink it all down, ... put
the lime in the coconut and call me in the morning" type issues.
cheers.
